Pantai wediombo terletak tidak satu deretan dengan pantai – pantai lain di Gunungkidul, letak pantai wediombo di Jepitu, Girisubo, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. Pengunjung akan disambut dengan batuan karang dengan pasir putih yang tidak terlalu luas, dari pantai ini juga dapat menyaksikan matahari tenggelam dengan sempurna. Posisi pantai yang hampir menghadap ke barat sempurna, terdapat juga sebuah tebing karang yang agak menjorok, membuat sunset pantai wedi ombo semakin indah.
Hal menarik lain yang dimiliki pantai wediombo adalah adanya kolam alami yang terbentuk dari batu – batu karang, kedalaman sekitar 1,5m. Kolam alami ini menjadi salah satu daya tarik yang dapat dinikmati wisatawan. Tipe ombak pantai wediombo cenderung stabil dan tidak berubah-ubah karena pantai ini berbentuk menyerupai teluk yang dikelilingi bukit karang. Pantai Wediombo berkembang menjadi salah satu tempat berkumpulnya para “pemburu ombak” atau peselancar.
